Quick batch resizing of images?

I am looking for a quick way of resizing images, making a thumbnail version and a bigger version for when clicked on. It's for use with a photo blog site using lightbox 2.

Anyone got any ideas?

Something like Imagemagick would be more suited than a photoshop action as the resizing could be put in as part of an upload script.
