Quick question, see if anyone has any advice or the like (appreciate the usual legal disclosures, etc, etc.).
In a nutshell my wife worked for Next between October 2004 and May 2006, part time, 20hrs a week.
She left in May 2006 to start a new job on a trial basis, and was not kept on as the position she took wasn't required after the trial. Yep, you take the chance with things like that, and in this case the mrs lost out, but that's life.
Anyway, we got a letter yesterday saying she's entitled to NO benefits at all because she's not paid enough NI stamps for the last 2 consecutive tax years and can't get any benefits as my salary is enough to support both people!
Question is, does the bottom line simply mean then that my wife is entitled to absolutely nothing in terms from benefits?
I know yonks ago there was income support and 'dole' and you could claim dole for a year and if you didn't get a job it went 'down' to income support which was the bottom-line benefit, so has this now totally changed?
