Quick BF2 Installation Query

Well the new patch royally screwed my BF2 with the game refusing to load with a nice error message, so ive uninstalled and gonna start from scratch.

The question is...is what order shall i install BF2, Special Forces and the Full 1.2 patch for a painless installation.

BF2>SF>1.2 IMO i think that should be ok, maybe swap SF and the 1.2 around, though.

best bet is to install both games then the patch last

Hmmm, if you could, i doubt you'd want to, but re-format maybe? That will sort everything out. Other than that, i dunno what the error means.. :/ Sorry, maybe someone else has got some id eas about it.

BF2 -> SF -> 1.12patch -> 1.2 Incremental

Thats how I did it, but only because I had the 1.12 install lying around

before you reformat, try uninstalling it AND deleting the whole EA/Battlefield 2 folder. theres some files still left behind so if you dont do this the configs might still be there

i think it had something to do with some configs being left over. I've started all over again...

grrr!!!! i keep getting patch failed errors. im about ready to throw my favourite game in the bloddy bin. Been trying for an hour and a half now to install it!

Download it again from somewhere else, I first downloaded the incrimental patch and it was giving my crashes, so i went over it with a clean, new copy of the full 1.2 and it seems to be ok now.

ok i finally got it all working. Turns out the problem was installing the game to a drive other than a windows partition causes problems with patching....and battlefield requires a hell of a lot of patching.
