OK current spec is in my sig.
Just noticed a few things on TWO that looks very appealing with BF3 out and MW3 very soon I'd thought i'll take advantage. Just want want a 2nd opinion really:

Asus Maximus IV Extreme Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard ** B3 REVISION ** £250.00
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £169.99
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8) £59.99

Be using current graphics, cooler etc just wanna bring things bit more up-to-date. AM thinking of water-cooling but kits are still on pre-order (one I want anyway) ditto SSD.

Many thanks

D'oh!! Wrong memory.
Was looking at this:
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-15000C9 1866MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9) £71.99

edit: 100 posts!! :p

Hello fellow berkshire person :)

Whats the budget you have.

£500 max I'd say. Like I said its taking advantage of good stuff whilst its cheaper - £50 off a Maximus IV is worth taking a look at!

PS I work in Newbury! Is it really crazy with Parkway opening today?

Yeah Parkway went crazy I've heard, I work 5mins from there, people have said they launched loads of confetti and with the rain its made places unwalkable lol.

Right £500. Is this for the tower? including windows or not?

mobo wise i'd go for the Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 over the asus, or if you want to spend that sort of money on a mobo go for the Gigabyte G1 Sniper 2.

If you are going to get some new memory I would get some with a low profile cooler on
them, as if you decide to put another cooler on the CPU then you will have problems
fitting it in with that memory.

I would get this, same speed and cheaper and brilliant memory: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-290-CS

Currently running 4GB of that stuff, nice one!!

lol I work (but not today) directly opposite Parkway on Northbrook Street! Gonna go check it out in a bit.

£500 is for mobo, memory and processor. Think i'm happy now with my basket (updated with the XMS3) and i think ill order now

Nice!! Although i'll be re-using current CPU cooler (Akasa Venom with push/pull). Mobo looks nice but only 1 x PCI-E x16. Preferably want 2 for X-fire in future, or won't it make any difference?

try looking at the specs of the mb again(make sure you're looking at the correct model), unless you mean it does x8/x8 rather than x16/x16 in xfire/sli in which case it doesn't make too big a difference performance wise.

if you want x16/x16 you want mbs with the nf2000 controller, those mbs are £200+.

guess you didn't like mps' asrock suggestion.

Yeah, only one slot actually runs @ x16
1 x PCI Express x16 slots, running at x16 (PCIEX16)
* For optimum performance, if only one PCI Express graphics card is to be installed, be sure to install it in the PCIEX16 slot.
1 x PCI Express x16 slots, running at x8 (PCIEX8)
* The PCIEX8 slot shares bandwidth with the PCIEX16 slot. When the PCIEX8 slot is populated with a PCI Express graphics card, the PCIEX16 slot will operate at up to x8 mode.
