quick binary / floating point help!

i need to answer these questions but showing working out...just cant remember the correct ways to work them out :mad:

if anyone could just answer one question i can do the rest using the formula you use!

Division

111011110 / 10010 = ? (i have the answer just no working out!)

Floating Point
(0.11*101)(0.1*11) = ?

Just do them as you would decimal, but useing the rule that 0 + 0 = 0, 0 + 1 = 1, 1 + 1 = 0, carry 1.

(0.11*101)(0.1*11)

= (11.11) * (1.1)
= 12.221

It would depend on what kind of floating point system you are using for the exact answer.

How can a binary equation have an answer with 2's in it?
