Hey there. Hopefully one of you clever types can sort me out in an instant.

I currently have a Hyundai L90D+ 19" monitor. Am hoping to upgrade to 22".

Someone has offered me a brand new Samsung 2243NW for not much cash. As far as I understand, although this is a newish screen, it only has 1 RGB input and no DVI input. If this is correct (is this for office workers on low spec machines?) shall I avoid it and go for something with DVI? or will it make no difference if i get the converter plug?

My system:
Vista Pro
Intel Q6600 @ 3ghz
4GB RAM
ATI Radoen HD 4670

Thanks...

I really don't like the idea of using VGA on a TFT screen but i suppose it depends how much you will be paying. 22" screens can be had for just over the £100 mark now so I wouldn't rush into anything.

Your main concern should be your graphics card. The performance will take a huge drop when/if you get that screen. My 3850 256mb was great at 1280x1024 but when I upgraded to 1680x1050 it was destroyed. Games literally went from running well to being unplayable.

really? didnt realise that. Thought that as the GPU was "HD" it could handle 1900x1200 no probs!

so i shouldnt look forward to running crysis on a 22" screen just yet then? I was going to get the new screen for £50, but perhaps ill just wait a little longer. If I am going to have to go get a new screen, perhaps i will get a new card and a 24"screen when cheap enough!

Yea, save your money and get a monitor with dvi.
Big difference in displaying 1900x1200 and gaming at 1900x1200.
Will Crysis work with your GPU?

Crysis is just fine on my GPU. Looks amazing on my 19" and looks great and very playable on my 32" LCD tv @ 1080p. Admittedly the frame rate slows down on the telly when the battle gets really frenetic.

Will save up for a decent 24" @ 1900x1200.
