hi guys
thinking of buying a Seagate personal cloud 5tb NAS ..
For storage of my mp3 music collection ...
My question is when the HDD in the NAS system fails ,can I buy another unit & then download all the data of my personal cloud ,to restore the new unit to the original state as before ... As got a life time of music I like to keep save ..

I dont believe it includes any backup storage to the internet. You might have to source that from someone else.

The personal cloud thing is more about being able to access your files in your home from anywhere on your phone ext.

Back up to your cloud service

To back up content to a cloud service, you must have an account on the service and an existing destination folder that you can use for your backup.

Open the Backup Manager.
Click Personal Cloud, and then click Add backup.
Select Cloud Backup, and then click Next.
Select your cloud service as your destination, and then click Next
Sign in to the cloud service and type the name of the destination folder.
In Advanced parameters, securely transferring data is the default. You can change this selection. (This feature is dependent on your cloud service offering.)
(Optional) Select to never delete files on the destination folder when they are deleted from the source.
Select a backup mode: manual or scheduled.
Create a name for your backup job.
Confirm the backup settings and the select Finish.

You should have at least three copies of your data. Original copy, local backup & offsite backup. It is possible to connect an external HDD to the personal cloud via the USB port.
