Quick check before ordering (please)

Hi folks, this is my first build in a long time, and after going on some advice from a previous poster, and some info I've read, here is what I've come up with (albeit a bit more expensive than I'd originally planned).

I'm going to be using the onboard graphics from the mobo for now and will upgrade the graphics card next year.

Does this all look ok, and can anyone see any reason why it wouldn't be whisper quiet

That is a lot of watt's from your power supply if that is all your system will have. If money is short you could try the ocz 600w for £59 instead.

even with a good graphics card this would be ample.

Then maybe this memory - it has the same timings as the corsair but is $14 cheaper

You could probably chop a few quid off that HD too.

The reason I went for the power supply is it gets a good rating for being quiet, something I'm very concerned about. The reviews for the one you've mentioned give it high praise but say it 'isn't quiet'. I appreciate this is a fairly subjective statement, but it's making me steer away from this. Obviously if there are other quiet PSUs out there that are cheaper ....

Youre obviously going for a near silent system but still that HDD isnt meant to be a boot drive really, it will be slow, theyre meant for storage, depends how important noise is to you though I guess - the black will be faster but make more noise
Re the PSU yeah the cheap OCZs prob arent best for your needs, but the new Z series look pretty good, you prob want to check into this, other good ones are corsair and bequiets dark power pro, 550W will be enough even with the addition of a gfx card later (presume youll be looking for a vapor-x type variant)

I thought ocuk have run out of stock of the Fractal cases, and they aren't getting any more until something like 21/12? If that's true, you'll be in for a bit of a wait!
