Quick check of my shopping basket before ordering please?

It's your money mate buy whatever :)

Just from my point of view it's a bit daft to pay more for a Z87 mobo with a non-k chip to be honest.

Kept the CPU the same as the K series is an extra £50 and at this stage I don't plan on OCing. Happy to keep mo-bo as it looks a beast in black and gives me the scope to change CPU at a later stage.

Don`t see what`s daft about that. He`s giving himself the option to upgrade in the future.

Just gone and put my order in as per post #32 apart from I changed the board to the D3HP as recommended.

Delivery is scheduled for Wednesday and I'm off work Thurs/Fri/Sat so hopefully have a nice day Thursday getting it put together although it'll probably take me a good few hours as I've only built one computer before.

Just one question if anyone reads this...

I have a 2TB hard drive that was used in a NAS drive and has some music stored on it, some time capsule back ups from my mac mini and a few other bits and pieces. If I want to install this in to this computer as a storage device just for music how would I go about deleting/formatting it so its completely blank?

Thanks for all your help. Might do a little build log although appreciate its nothing compared to most systems on here!

You can opt to plug it in straight away while you're building it, and then when you have windows up and running you can format it from windows.
As a first time builder, I'd get your main OS drive installed, your OS up and running and then when you're happy you can plug your old Nas drive in and do from windows.
The second way you don't have to worry about specifying boot order in the bios.
As for the actual Formatting, you can Go to " My computers" right click teh drive and select format, just make sure it's the right one, or you can use Partition magic to format and split the 2tb drive into smaller bits

Thanks buddy, the second option sounds like a good idea as I want to get everything up and running nicely first before over complicating things although fingers crossed it'll go smoothly :-)

Roll on Wednesday!!
