Hi all,

I'm just finishing off a full new build and have a quick question on RAM...

I've got a Z97 mobo (here) and a i5 5490K (here) so hopefully both of these suggestions are compatible and I haven't done anything ridiculous - if so please let me know :o:o

I had original specced TeamGroup Elite but have just found some TeamGroup Xtreem which has a higher speed but higher timings. The PC is going to be used for photoshop and lightroom photo editing, so I'm just trying to work out which will perform better, higher RAM speed or tighter timings...

I haven't really got deeply into RAM overclocking before so I can do a bit but would like to stay within relatively 'safe' limits...

Cheers in advance!

High memory clocks are for most are pretty pointless ... But some games do like higher throughput but differences are in the single frames a second. Running 2666mhz TG kit now .... Absolutely amazing once tightend for benches ... For gaming ? Can't say I can see a difference between this and my old 1866 kit

Kits that run at higher clocks often run with higher latencies , but it's about finding the balance between the two .. High clocks but to high latency effectively wipes out speed improvement ... Low clocks with low latecy whilst very quickly accessible isn't the best for bandwidth
