Quick crossfire question

I just put another 4890 in my machine to give it a boost. In GPUZ I get the following details:

Card 1: PCI Express x16 v2.0
Card 2: PCI Express x16 v1.1

I'm using an Asus P6T deluxe with the latest BIOS.

Is this correct, or do I need to adjust something in the BIOS?

EDIT:

According to the manual:

3 x PCI Express 2.0x16 slots (at x16/x6/x1 or x16/x8/x8 mode)

I don't have any benchamrk software, but I used Fraps to get an FPS display in Rift.

When I disabled the 2nd card there was no drop in FPS, maybe even a slight increase of 3-4, but I can't be sure as I did it in a pretty unscientific way.

I'm getting the feeling something is working.

I assume you're using the blue and the white PCI-E slots.

Sounds daft but have you:

a) connected the cards with a Crossfire connector

b) enabled crossfire in the Catalyst Control Centre

c) connected the necessary power cables from your PSU to the graphics cards

You could try the free edition of 3DMark Vantage:

Thanks, I shall give that a go.

A couple of screenshots of GPUZ, just in case anyone spots anything suspect.

It's now saying both cards are running at 1.1!

Could be any of the following:

GPU not seated properly
Dirty contacts
Oddity with northbridge / GPU driver
Bad motherboard
Bad GPU

Or, as GPU-Z says, "power saving features may affect the results displayed".

Download Furmark:

You can run this in a Window so you can have GPU-Z open at the same time and see if stressing the cards ups them from 1.1 to 2.0.

I was having a few random lock-ups over the last few weeks, so I flashed my MB to the latest BIOS and left everything at default. I'll give it a few more days to make sure all is well, then I'll bump this thread with some OCs and see what I can get.

Thanks for the input, everyone. :)
