Quick curry question!

If I go out for a meal wherever I will half the time get a lamb meal. I very rarely cook it at home and it's one of my favourite meats and so I often get a lamb curry when I'm out.

i like lamb, but not in curry.i think most of the lamb is actually mutton which is a very strong taste.if you like a hot curry but not overpowering but like a very spicey taste then i would recommend a chicken dhansak.very tasty.most curry houses include the rice with a dhansak too so ask before you order the rice

Yes lamb is great.

Tomato based curries = lamb
Yoghurt/cream type curries = chicken

That's my usually rule of thumb.

Totally agree - do curries at home a lot and love lamb dishes but a lot of people do chicken as it's quicker. Can't rush a lamb curry.

My particular favourite is lamb saag.

Nothing quite like making your own curry paste as well, far more flavours

King prawns are obviously the best in curries.

Also its a lot more difficult to disguise badger as a prawn compared to chicken/lamb!

lamb cooked well > chicken > lamb cooked poorly

not sure what someone meant about lamb usually being overcooked, if anything it's normally undercooked, it should crumble away. Chicken is much easier to get right so is usually a safer bet. Prefer cooking lamb when I'm making my own though.
