Quick D5 question

Hi all,

Would it be ok to connect the blue speed sense wire (3 Pin) to my Lamptron fan controller to monitor the rpm on the Lamptron instead of connection to a mobo fan header? Is it safe to do this - wont harm the pump?

Should be fine

yeah it's fine just remember you won't have a warning if it fails this way but with mobo you will have warning

Thanks fellas - take your point about warning if not connected to the mobo - so might just go that route, but would be easier to see rpm with the lamptron, plus it would show if it failed - 0 rpm. Lol.

it would but only if your constantly checking your fan controller. just get a fan extender cable if your having trouble routing the cabling

I would use mobo header, not only will you get a warning if it fails but you could set up your PC to shut down if it fails. You can't do that with Lamptron.
