Hi guys, not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes.

i have 3 screens, centre is my main gaming screen running display port and is always on/connected

outer 2 are a pair of really old dells running dvi which i occasionally turn on to give me a bit more real estate when working, otherwise they're turned off to save power.

thing is, if i leave the windows extended desktop activated (even with the monitors off) then if i'm running a game and accidentally stray off onto one of the outer monitors it'll auto tab out whatever game is on the centre screen resulting in either a mildly annoying tab out or depending on the game a horrendous crash.

so, aside from that what i'm currently doing to transition is just going into screen resolution and activating/deactivating the monitors as required. i wondered if perhaps there might be a smarter way of doing it?

Set middle display as display 1 then just press Win + P to cycle through main display or extend. Should do the job?

Should just be able to leave them turned on and let them go to sleep when not in use then, probably easier.

problem isn't having the monitors off, it's the pc still displaying too them.

i know displayport allows for the recognition of the monitor disconnecting if it's turned off, but i'm not going to be buying new secondary monitors any time soon, they don't get the use.
