If my virgin router is set to use a specific DNS server, and it cant be changed. Will altering the Network settings on the PC itself supersede the router DNS settings??

Yes I'm asking in GD, because I need a uber quick answer.... Preferably a proper one :p

All you need to do is specify say, Googles DNS in your network settings. Just make sure the router is still the default gateway and the job is a good one.

Ah good stuff. Just didn't want to be doing anything silly like making my PC hop more than it needed to. Looking to get latency down. I have Google DNS set.

A ping of 19ms according to pingtest, Considering I'm running over wireless too. I think its as good as it will be.

19ms over wireless is good. I didn't know you can't set the DNS on the SuperHub. I've got mine in modem mode (thank the goddess) so can't test but that's always the best place for DNS settings if you can.
