Quick DS and WiFi question.

saw a little piece of kit for the DS called
-WiFi Max For DS

if I just plug that into my PC (with broadband)

Can I play against people online around the world.

Not to sure how the WiFi stuff works.

pretty much i think it either shares the connection via something like ics or bridges the connection for you

Its just a usb wic, that you use to create an ad-hoc network with your ds. Probably better to get a cheap AP like a Netgear ME102.

Only certain games are WiFi compatable (animal crossing, mario kart, tony hawks)

I thought that the WiFi Max was for people with an unsupported wireless access point (quite a few i believe). Shove it in and bingo....online gaming ahoy.

Does it work with just any adapter ? i got the impression you had to mess about to make it work with non purpose made stuff

I don't know about network adapters in ad-hoc mode, it may not work with some kit. But it should work with the majority of 802.11b wireless access points, which can be had for like £10.
