I have just bought something on ebay, got it here, turns out to be cheap tat that doesn't actually work as described.

Now I have been on to the seller, explained the situation, explained that I don't want it as it does not do what I wanted it to do, and he has offered me a refund minus postage cost, final value fee, listing fee and paypal fee.

Does he actually have the right to demand all of those from me? I know I would front the postage cost, but the other three?

Is he taking the **** here?

It's happened to 60%-70% of ebay users!
Open dispute, Submit facts and they should sort it.

Why do people still use it?

and what did you buy?

It was an mp4 player that is supposed to work in docking stations (as described by the seller). I even sent him the model number of my station in an email to confirm it would work, and he said it would. It doesn't.
