As far as current goes (Amps) so long as it's equal too or greater then the one it is replacing then it will be fine. This is because electrical components only draw the current they need. Potential difference (Voltage) is different however and whatever the Voltage rating on the PSU is, this will be the voltage shoved up the components ass!!:p So as already stated make sure the voltage rating is pretty much exact (+/- 0.5-1v). The voltage rating on regulated PSU's are pretty accurate but that said I would still meter it out to check it's within spec.
