quick hard disk/format question

ok so i have a sata1 drive 200gb, i would like to sell it on and i have done a FULL format through windows..is this the safest way to format the drive?

If you are trying to SECURELY delete the data that used to be on it, a full format from within windows is NOT enough.

You can use any cryptological erasing tool, for example http://eraser.heidi.ie/ to do a "free space erase" on the drive. I suggest settings of 1 pass, pseudorandom data for this.

Eraser can be run from within windows.

Just One Other Question: is it an SSD?

not SSD its old maxtor diamondmax 10, i will try that program now with the settings you said, thanx
ps. can you tell me what to do in the program thanx. how do i start the format with it?

ok i think i got it. its deleting the drive now
