Any final thoughts/objections? If not, I'm going to order it all asap before the VAT increase tonight.

Also, thanks for all the advise and help :)

Ordered! :D

yeh i want 9.336 TB now :'(
Hahaha! I already got 5.something odd TB of space at the mo (externals & internals) which is virtually full, but with these I'll be giving 2TB of my internals to my Dad whilst keeping some externals as back-ups. So that means I'll have over 10-12TB of space which should last a while at least :D ...I think I have more money than sense :(

Cheers for the advise bro :)

haha nice, well i suppose you can never have enough storage.....atm i have about 8Tb mostly full (no not full of p0rn) but i have no room left! :(

oh wells will just have to buy a bigger case :p

no problem mate :)

It's real annoying when everything's full and you can't d/l any more ain't it! I mean deleting things is obviously out of the question!! lol

If you're after a case I can't recommend mine highly enough, Lian-Li PC-X2000. 6 hot swappable bays and ridiculously cool (both temp & looks!) Bit pricey though, when I bought it anyway, not sure about now.

yes i know :( my parents dont understand why i cant delete anything ha

yeh that case looks good, trouble is my server is a btx mobo so probs wont fit :( and yeh it is still a leeeeettlle bit pricey

Should be a sweet upgrade NVP - your 512MB 4870 can finally lay to rest ;). First thing to do, after what others have said, is to maybe see how your rails/volts are with all the new stuff in at stock. If everything is fine, then consider overclocking - though your Q6600 does run quite hot I think. What HSF do you have?

LOL I will finally be able to play GTA IV on "High" :p

Yeah will see how it runs at stock, I'm assuming it will be fine though as Hiper were considered a good brand when I bought mine years back & 740W should be enough... fingers crossed.

Yeah will o/c if everythings stable, which it should be. I got some beast of a heat sink: Tuniq Tower 120-LFB which is a real ******* to fit with my fat hands but should keep it cool enough.

That is a beast! You can get a Q6600 to 3Ghz without even breaking a sweat - you have an G0 stepping right? Probably get that up to 3.5Ghz+ - though I think 3.2/3.3Ghz is more than enough coupled with 4Gb RAM and a 2Gb 6970. Now you just need to find the time to take advantage of all of this kit! Think I may do a cheeky SSD/quad core upgrade myself in March/April.

Yeah the plan was to clock it to at least 3.4 as this stepping was "guaranteed" to be stable at that but I took one look at the BIOS for the P5Q and decided I didn't need to just yet lol! Much more "advanced" o/c options in this BIOS than my last mobo!! Will give it a go soon enough though... :D

Also, giving my 4gb RAM to my sister so gonna buy me some more monsters just for OTT sake.

Hhhhhmmm 4GB modules are a lot rarer that I thought they would be. I remember back in the days having 8Gb (4x2GB) restricted the overclocking potential - not sure if that is the case anymore. In all honesty, unless you do CAD or Photoshopping, I think 4GB will suffice (yet to come close to 4Gb useage on W7). I haven't paid attention to memory for ages so a little out of the loop. I think any of these will be a good choice (with the Kingston HyperX 4GB looking the best). Anyone else care to confirm please (or suggest an alternative)?

Already got G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PK PC2-8500C5 (2x2GB) atm which I think is comparable to those, maybe I should just upgrade to DDR3 when I upgrade the mobo & CPU again. Checked my order history and I've had these Since August 2008!

Yeah I have that set too. A quad 775 and 4/8GB will hold its own for a while yet especially with a 6970 and SSD. Jump up to DDR3 (4 isn't far off lol) when you upgrade but I think you have at least another year before a game struggles with a quad core at 3-3.5Ghz.
