So Im building my friends PC, & im having problem attaching the cooler

1 x Intel Core i5-4690K 3.50GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £169.99
1 x Corsair Hydro H105 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060016-WW ) £89.99
1 x Gigabyte Z97M-D3H Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £79.99
1 x Corsair Carbide Series Air 240 High Airflow PC Case - Black (CC-9011070-WW) £69.95

I put in the adjustable backplate for 115x and put in the screws for a 115x but its not secure, once tightend I can still push the screws back moving the backplate away form the back of the mobo a good few mm (is that suppose to happen? ) please help

I'm guessing the backplate at the back of the motherboard isn't sitting flush enough (it happened to me at the beginning of a H105 install, and was a bit tricky). Try again, and play with moving the adjustable screw-holes in the backplate a little till all four ends are perfectly flush with the motherboard.

there will be a little movement as its spring loaded,so not to crack the mb

but it shouldn't be loose, are you using all the spacers? if any are provided

i can get the back plate through the holes np, but when i screw in as tight as possible (with all 4) i can still push the whole thing back so that the backplate is a good 4mm away from the board. the only thing I casn think of is that im using the wrong screws

the cooler came with 3 types (Im using the one that is circled red) is that right?

Have you mounted the actual water block to the backplate and those four standoffs yet?

If you haven't, do so and it should all tighten up.

just watched a video now of someone installing it & looks loose for him to, will put on the block and hope that fixes everything :)

Edit: seems to be alright, panic over :p
