Hey Guys

just about to order:

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit - OEM (GFC-00599)

Im going to install it on my current PC, i am planning on buying a new system/upgrade just after christmas and install it on that too, will i be able to use the same version (i.e. install it on multiple hardware - not to be used at the same time)

Thanks

no. oem is for one motherboard only

in fact, even with retail i dont think you can run it on two pcs (you can remove it from one and put it on another)

Thats exactly what ill be doing, ill be removing it from the old PC and install it on the new one. it wont be used at the same time.

you scared me for a second Paul, lol, im planning to buy a new motherboard and i wont be using the old one, im windows 7 64 bit ultimate.

Thanks for the replys,

Just to clear things up:

if i buy the OEM version, and install it on my current setup. in 1 months time i order a system upgrade/new system from OCUK, would i be able to install the oem on the new system, the (old/current) pc will be formatted and sold with my existing vista 64 operating system.

is this possible or do i need to buy the retail version.

Thanks again, i just want to make sure i buy the right version

Cheers

You could just install it and not activate it on your current computer (trial). You can get 3 months use out of it by rearming it (legal AFAIK) then just use the actual licence to activate it on your new computer when you get it.

The activation grace period is not and has never been a trial.
