Hey all,

Quite simply, if someone *cough* Dad...were to bring me back an iPad from vegas (complete coincidence that he's there right now at the time of this posting) and it was a 3G one would I be able to put a UK sim in it and would it work?

Also would it activate through iTunes etc? :)

I'm sure the answer is yes, just want confirmation!

Ta!

That is the case, with the exception that they sell two versions in the US (GSM and CDMA) so you definitely want an 'ATT' one not a 'Verizon' one.

Yerp, after further research I found this out. Dad's now text me saying "We are fully iPaded up" :D

My dad brought an iPad, iPhone and two iPods from USA and customs didn't even bother with it, iPods were still in the boxes, so was the iPhone and he had the iPad in its case and walked through with it.

I did look at doing the same a while back, but then realised that once you added US sales tax on to it, plus having to buy a UK charger it was hardly any cheaper at all and much more hassle. Bought one in the UK instead.
