The lapping guide reccomends a glass surfice, which i havnt got.

I dont see why it cant be done on a desk surfice? still flat enough to me or is their something im missing

A glass surface is suggested as it is totally flat.

Have you got a mirror or glass/marble chopping board ?

If you search around for premium lapping kit it comes with all papers you need and a pane of glass as well as arctic ceramique thermal compound.

I have just relapped my CPU and done my Tuniq as was still getting varying temps, more so under load than at idle.

I am yet to see the final results, but i did put a thin layer of Mx2 on the CPU and sat the Tuniq on it to make sure that it was making good contact (i didnt do this last time) and it seems to now be making full contact with the CPU.

How many grades of wet and dry are you using may i ask?
