Quick maths question

Hi,

If I needed 44 square metres of material and each piece of material was 2.4x 1.2 m. How many pieces of material would I need exactly?

So long as theres no other restrictions (about say the pattern on each or the way they sit together) 16. If were talking EG stone slabs/wooden board/random bits of material - 16 pieces covers it.

2.4x1.2 = 2.88m sq for each piece

44/2.88 = 15.28
