Property is proposed to be 76.63 squared metres, and orginal size of property is 27.88 squared metres whats the increase in % terms?

Is that like 76.63 x 76.63 or 10 x 7.663?

Add in some units, the question makes no sense.

76.63/27.88 is 2.7486. So the new area is 275% the area of the old one, an increase of 175%.

Edit: I may have been ninja'd but at least mine is correct.

Cheers what I had, but the guy who wrote an old report from 2002 had this wrong, so i gotta correct it for my appeal statement.

In effect, you subtracted the 100% twice. First when you subtracted the old area from the new one, then when you subtracted 100% from the final result. If you had only done this once, you'd have been right.

Yeah sorry. I just blanked slightly, I have been doing it for years but it goes to show what leaving school 5 weeks ago does to you maths skills
