Just beginning the nitty gritty of memory tweaking...
Which would affect performance the most: dropping from CAS 2.5 to CAS 3 or going from 1T to 2T?

You should be able to achieve both with that memory

Yep I'm running 2.5, 3, 3, 8, 1T at the moment but when I reach the top end of my overclock I thought I would need to slacken timings to get even higher? Still floundering around in n00b land tbh :p

I would not use 2T to clock higher as you need a lot more speed to compensate for the loss in performance.

IMO maximum acceptable timings are 3-4-4-10-1T but it all depends on the max speed you can get at different timings, if the increase in memory speed is small going from 2.5-3-3-8-1T to 3-4-4-10-1T it might be that the lower timings are faster, even though the memory speed is lower.
