Quick Memtest86 Question.

Hey guys,

I’m running memtest on a laptop atm that I suspect has faulty memory. It’s only been running for about an hour, but already has flagged up, ‘Pass Complete.’

How long realistically, should I leave the test running in order to discover any memory faults

I'd say overnight. Whenever i do mine, i've done it whilst i've been asleep. Means you don't have to sit around waiting for it to finish

Yeah, over night is a safe bet. If it's passed one cycle already it's a good sign - faulty memory usually throws up errors quite quickly.....sometimes thousands in one pass If you just get a few errors you can probably tweak it out, providing the laptop has a BIOS you can fiddle with.

You might also one to try Prime95 as well - that will thrash the whole system.
