Got my Samsung 830 128gig yesterday.
Connected it up to my setup and chucked windows 7 onto it, rest of system is a q6600, 4gig ram and an ATI 5770 for what it matters.

The motherboard is only Sata2, so I knew I wasn't going to get the full performance from the drive. Does the below seem about right? Just want to check before spending ages installing lots of programs only to realise I've not set it up right.

It's only going to tide me over a month or so until I join this decade with an i5 setup!:D

Cheers guys. It's definitely feeling very rapid anyway - so can't wait to see what they can do on a full speed board.
How much of that speed is just coming from a very clogged up windows build however is hard to say!

Just need to find a more long term way of mounting it...

speeds look good.

If you have no mounts on your harddrive bays just place it on the bottom of the case. I did that with my old 1 not like its gota spinning HDD or anything will be fine.

Yeh that's what I wanted to do. Problem is the sata power cable positions. I've got a Silverstone SG03, both hdd bays are used, and another drive in the floppy bay powered on one cable.
The other Sata power cable is going to the top of the case for the dvd drive, so imagine I may end up balancing the SDD on top of the psu if I can get the cables out of the way!

Definitely going to have to get a PSU with modular and ideally thinner power cables when I next rebuild!
