At the moment i run two different actions to resize my photos to post on my blog; one if they're landscape and one if they're portrait. They do exactly the same thing, except obviously when it's landscape i resize it so the width is 700px, and if it's portrait the height is 700px. I'm changing my actions to include a HPF instead of USM, and was wondering if there was a way to combine the actions so i only have to use one? I'm sure there's a way to resize an image to fit into a set 'box' size (without using percentages).

Thanks!

Make yourself an HPF action.

Then, File>Scripts>Image Processor.

Set the sizes etc. in there and choose your HPF action at the bottom.

Or, you can just go to the existing actions, and add the HPF steps to the bottom.

Ooh that looks interesting in there. I might stick with what i know, though :p

It was a tough thing to Google, but i found the thing i was looking for.

File > Automate > Fit Image

I'm assuming i can just do that whilst recording an action and it'll do it! About to give it a go. As always with PS, there's a million different ways to do what you want!

Hmn i've over-complicated things now.. i have four actions! :p

[1] HPF for fullsize
[2] Flatten, save fullsize TIFF
[3] Resize for web, HPF
[4] Borders, save for web, close

The problem i'm having is that the end of my HPF actions i want to be able to use a layer mask to paint in what i want sharpened. Therefore the action has to end to allow me to do so. I know i should be able to do this in just two actions, but i cant figure out how to make the action stop to let me paint on my layer mask, then continue when i say so? I've tried stop messages but it doesnt let me do anything..
