Well that time of the month has approached when my pay check will be burning a hole in my pocket, so hows this look:

finalspec.jpg

Can stretch to £800 quid max.

Can i suggest something a bit different, with a 4300 instead. I know its overbudget but i think its definatley worth it!

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series
(£164.49)

Intel Core 2 DUO E4300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.80GHz (800FSB) - Retail
(£115.14)

Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
(£82.24)

Samsung SpinPoint P SP2504C 250GB SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM
(£50.51)

Lian-Li PC-7 PLUS Aluminium Midi-Tower Case - Black
(£54.04)

Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU
(£72.84)

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 775)
(£16.44)

Gainward BLISS GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
(£258.49)

Sub Total : £692.92
Total : £827.05

The Asus is meant to be superb and the 4300 will allow a great overclock wth tighter timings on the ram as the multi is 9!

Seconded. This looks a very good system for the money. If it's too over budget then just get cheaper RAM. The motherboard can run RAM and CPU at different speeds and if it means you can afford the 8800 GTS then it would still be faster overall in games. Nicer case too.

Just curious but, @ stock would a E4300 (1.8GHz - 800MHz FSB) be a bottleneck to a 8800GTS/GTX?

Probably a little on the GTS and certainly on the GTX... but certainly still very quick... and who runs them at stock? ;)

Its fine mate, my friend has a gts running on a corsair 520w and its fine.

Theres also a few people on here running a gts with that psu! Their extremely good quality psu's!

Could prolly SLI (2x) 8800 GTS on that PSU, +12v is 40 A / 480 Watt.

Well its a done deal, should be arriving on Friday :P

Gone with thermaltakes recommendation. Probably be posting here later on Friday night when I try over clocking the rig ^^
