If using my PS Plus account I continue to buy games that are free are they permanent purchases while I keep up a subscription, even if I don't own the system.

It's just that the website let me purchase a Vita game, but I don't actually own one. So lets say I do that every month and eventually get a Vita will I then have access to those games dating back to now?

You can indeed. I pre-purchased a load of games from the instant catalogue on PS Plus ahead of getting my Vita, so on day one with it I already had more games than I knew what to do with. :)

Mind if I hijack with another quick question? :)

If I let the PS+ subscription run out for a while do you lose your purchased games or is everything still there upon re-subscription?

Everything is still there when you re-subscribe.

Also, it's only the Instant Games Collection that you lose access to, anything you've had to pay for, even if it was onl £1 with a massive PS+ discount, you have access to even if your sub expires.
