I'm picking up a used PS3 console on Thursday/Friday, just need to know acouple of things:

1, If its been registered online already, can I still set up a new user for me?

2, Have Sony made available an extended warranty yet?

Cheers

seems pretty good, you probably wont need to do the backing up bit as it will probably be blank. Formatting the whole drive takes about a minute or 2 (wish my Pc was this fast!), Oh and dont forget to do a 10 GB partition for installing Linux.

How the hell are people managing to need a 160Gb HDD in a console?

Have Sony started doing a video marketplace for HD movies?

Well the Sony Music/video download service seems like it will be here before the new year but thats not why i got mine. And you can never have a big enough hard drive :D . Makes mine even more "Elite" as well
Still got 110 Gb Left to go though, it will get used up with some of the PSN games coming out soon.

Just thinking of the future rather do it now than later and lose everything I've downloaded and games saves etc

A HDD isn't necessary at all just yet. 60GB is plenty and I've put all my music and videos on it and I've only filled half of it. Once more PSN games like Socom and Warhawk are available then it may be needed down the line.

Sony keeps updating the PS3 frequently so I'm sure they will add an option to transfer game saves later, I wouldn't worry about it.
