You cant play US or Japanese games on a Pal PS3, there not multi region, PS2 and PS1 games are region locked as they were when they was released, there is approx 2500 Pal PS2 games.
Anyway not got nothing to do with OP so ill leave it.

The most popular games work fine with PS3. You cannot play import ps1/ps2 games on the ps3 so what are you going on about?

Why would you take into account us and jpn games when Emotion Engine or not a pal ps3 cannot play them??

works fine , even pro evo 1 if thats the sorta thing you like

FFXII looks great at 1080p on the pc emulator made by a bunch of unpaid people in their free time. But the ps3 doesn't even render ps2 games at a higher resolution, it just upscales them making them look crap.

I agree with you on this. I've played wipeout 1 on a pc emulator. Now that is what you call real upscaling. I am sure the PS3 could do it but there would be lots of glitches I'd expect.
