Going to run:
1 x GT280
E8600 with space for overclocking on a noctua fan
2 x HDD
1 x soundcard
dvd writer.

I was going to get an X2 and so had specced a 750W corsair.
do you rekon I still need this?

Could I drop to 650w? or lower?
Also...dumb question - whats th difference between modular and well...non-modular?

The 750w corsair i had specced originally does not have the word modular in the description but the more expensive 620W does.

Im guessing its a good thing but why?

Get the Corsair 620w it will run that system easy.

Modular means that the cables your not using can be disconnected so you dont have a rats nest of unused cables.

Modular can allow a lot better airflow through the case, because you can get rid of all your unused cables. Probably slightly better for cable management also.

So yeah the 620 will be nice.

cheers guys. Thanks a lot for the speedy replies.

Now I understand what modular is...

you say the 620w will run the system easy....is the 520w pushing things too low? i dont have too much experience judging whats needed.

Its a gaming rig and will be running crysis etc....so i guess the cpu and gpu will be running at full loads.
