real quicky... out of these two ps3 games does one really shine above the other one or are they equally good games and down to personal preference?

Both great games, And to be honest, You'll have to play them both eventually, It's more of a question of which to buy first. :p

Have you played the other DMC games? Have you played Ninja Gaiden on Xbox?

Personally, I'd go with DMC 4, But that's because i've already played the old Ninja Gaiden.

DMC4. I owned Ninja Gaiden Sigma as well. But it doesn't feel as fast and action packed as DMC4. A couple of the bosses were annoying and I found the game a bit too easy (the weapons are badly balanced a bit). Get both of you can but for me if I had to choose I would get DMC4 for the above reasons.

DMC4 pwns Ninja Gaiden and then some, its personal preference though at the end of the day, I enjoyed both but will no doubt get flamed by the NG fanboys, but there you go :)

I bought Ninja Gaiden as it can be had for £20 new, couldn't find DMC4 for less than £40. Enjoying it so far, though it can be a bit of a weird difficulty leap, normal enemies are relatively easy but then the bosses are hard as nails.

Gonna buy DMC4 as soon as i finish it.

oh...

right, i was asking cuz the place i ordered my ps3 from as part of a bundle with Uncharted & Ninja Gaiden told me that the whole thing is delayed and would i like to "upgrade" to the Uncharted and DMC4 bundle for an extra tenna...

however, it turns out that was a mistake and the Uncharted & NG bundle has been dispatched so thats a wrap, guess i'm stuck with the "lesser" game...

like someone said tho, most people get both anyway its just a matter of time :) its no biggie - i've got COD4 waiting for me here anyway :p

thanks for the input guys ;)

Really?!

DMC4 doesnt even come close to the awesomeness of Ninja Gaiden?! Both are good, actually DMC is good, Ninja Gaiden is outright amazing!

rp2000 if you found Ninja Gaiden too easy you was not playing it on the right difficulty :)

Ninja Gaiden is very very good don't get me wrong, I loved it!, I just feel DMC4 tops it for me personally, I love the bosses and the style of it.

From what i've gathered, Ninja Gaiden is all about the game play. When compared to DMC the storyline is rubbish, the cut scenes are awful and the graphics are well below par. However the game mechanics are the closest to perfect that i've ever played - everything blends seamlessly into everything else and the feeling you get when you manage to go into a room full of soldiers and come out without a single scratch on you is just superb.

DMC has brilliant mechanics, don't get me wrong, they're just not quite so close to perfect. However to make up for this it has awesome cut scenes, top notch graphics, a much more solid storyline and just a generally 'better' game world.

remember DMC4 is a newer game, hence the graphics difference i know Ninja Gaiden was revamped a bit on the PS3 but its still a port from an xbox game so still pretty good.

The story line in Gaiden made more sense to me then DMC4 has but i dont know the previous story of DMC lol - but i agree the cutscenes are awesome!

Ninja Gaiden without a doubt.

Although Sigma definitely has had it's difficulty levels dropped.

Although I have the 360 version, I'm half-enjoying DMC4 at the moment. It's good, but it gets a little samey - and I'm talking samey after the first few levels. I imagine it'll open up a good deal when I unlock some kickass moves. But anyway, it's definitely better than the last one!

So the game that I have vigorous difficulty in winning is actually a step down from the original?!

I agree with Streeteh though - The story, cinematics and dare-I-say characters in NGS are really poor. These things usually motivate me to continue a hard game, but not NGS.

Yup, Nija Gaiden Black had even harder difficulties, Master Ninja being the hardest

I got 6 chapters in on Master Ninja mode, it was hard as **** and i gave up after that!

Though i think only 1 of the developers managed to beat it on that difficulty! lol

Another vote for Ninja Gaiden from me.

The combat in DMC4 can be very temperamental at times (e.g dodgy camera angles) while Ninja Gaiden is just so smooth in comparison and is great to play.
