Amongst other bits and pieces last week, our electrician replaced a double light switch for us in the hallway. We'd had a go at doing it ourselves but couldn't figure it out and he was coming round to do other bits anyway.
The left switch does the upstairs landing light, which can also be controlled by a switch up there. The right switch only does the downstairs hallway light (not controlled anywhere else), but unfortunately the switch goes the wrong way (up is on, down is off). This bothers me
Is this an easy fix? It's hard to search because of the left switch being two way (or whatever it's called). It certainly makes the wiring more complicated, to the point we couldn't figure it out the first time
Is it a case that one or two wires are wrong? Or could he have fitted the whole switch itself upside down?
I was about to pay his invoice but if we can't figure this out maybe I'll hold off and ask him nicely to come round and flip it, lol... (he is local)

If you’re facing the switch then the stairs go up to your left.. so yeah the left switch needs to stay as the upstairs light.
She also didn’t mind the hot tap going to wrong way in our bathroom and I had to make her get a replacement valve from the bathroom shop she ordered them from… Again, to me that’s totally unacceptable!
