got a G0 Q6600 and ip35 pro + 4gb pc6400 ram

havent overclocked for a few years

trying to hit 3.4 ish on air, what sort of core voltage should i be using? and what is considered too high?

at the mo i have 8x400 with ram at 1:1, had to boost cpu vid to 1.4 - does this seem about right? (im sure ive seen others hitting this speed and higher on stock volts?)

It all depends on the VID (stock voltage) of your chip (ranges from 1.2v-1.325v), and how much the vcore drops on your board under load.

the stock voltage says 1.325

when set at 1.4 its dropping to 1.37

does that sound about right?

Hi there, ive got a Q6600 and ive benn playing with overclocking my rig too. Ive had mine running at 3.6ghz with voltage a 3.25 . also with FSB at 1600 x8 multiplier was best for me. Had the ram in sync so it ran at 800 mhz. Ive done loads of stability test inc prime95, memtest etc. All run stable with no probs but i occasionally get boot rests very occasionally any way i can fix this?

Its an options on my mobo to sync the ram.....ive got the choice for Auto, 1:1 , 3:2, 5:8 and sync..........it seems to auto set the ram on a 1:2 against the fsb
