Just a quick one guys, just had a random thing today, PC hasn't been cleaned out for a few months, so cables out the back, PC taken outside and given a can of compressed air to blow out all the dust & rubbish, nothing inside was touched or moved, came back in, plugged it in, get bios splash screen and the get the "Disk read error ocurred", drives all showing in bios (Gigabyte D3H) few restarts, tried to boot of a few of my SSDs and a DVD, nothing, noticed SATA mode was on IDE, switched it to AHCI and everything now seems fine.

Its strange as no other settings has changed at all, but hopefully this should be once off thing and not the start of a bigger issue, here's hoping!

Would anyone do anything else or just put it down to tha setting randomly changing? I can't even remember what it was on before!

Maybe the CMOS got cleared, were all other BIOS settings unchanged? Such as overclocks, RAM XMP profiles etc?

I don't think I have changed anything OC wise, all fan profiles were still the same, I think!

Fingers crossed it'll be fine now anyways! :)

Me either, I've just spent too much time this past week getting the desk area refurbed, rebuilt, organised, changed etc..so you'd generally think something would rain on the parade at the final hurdle!!
