I've just received X-Files season1 in the M-lock packaging (as opposed to the limited edition) and it doesn't have a cardboard sleeve around the plastic case.
The season 2 box set does.

I can't find a decent picture of the packaging on any of the usual e-tailers sites so can someone who already owns a copy clear this up for me.

Cheers.

Yup it does come with a cardboard sleeve, I ordered all 9 seasons from another web site, and they all came with cardboard covers over the plastic case.

Hope this helps.

I suspect the slip cover may only be on first runs of that packaging - I know in the U.S. some distributors will put a slip cover as a "bonus" on some runs of disks (i've also seen it here on Evolution and Finding Nemo), but not later ones (conversely some will put them on every one, regardless of it's a first run or 15th run).
I can't give a specific answer though (I don't have any X-files disks).

In a simliar vein, does anyone know what the watching order is? Obviously the seasons are in order but I don't know when the movies fit in.

Hmmm, conspiracy.

Mines was exactly the same.

a better case that will last being opened more than a few times?
I'm talking about the m-lock being better here;) fancy card packaging looks pretty but tends to wear out and have poor retention mechanisms :)

The film was released in early 96 in the States. The series started in 93. Sure you could run through IMDB and figure it out from there.

Regarding running order - there time was always an issue. UK running order was different from the States i believe. Could prob dig out the magazines to confirm as they had the sequence and spoilers every month.

Ha-ha. :D Good one.

The consensus seems to be that there should be a slipcase on it, so I'll ask about a replacement.

Thanks for your help everyone.

I don't think it really matters as the film doesn't resolve anything, in fact it will probably just confuse you more.
