Hey there,

Probably buying a 7990 next week.

I see http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-121-GI
for £469.99 inc VAT

and http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-084-HS
for £479.99 inc VAT

Just want to know if both cards have the voltage unlocked?

Thanks in advance for answers, if any good input why I should buy MSI or the GIGABYTE one would be appreciated.

Thinking of going for the MSI one as I am from the Netherlands and MSI customer support is in the Netherlands also which would make that easy if I would need to RMA or anything.

Regards,

kun

have you got a i7 ?

i5 2500k @ 4700

Oh this is going to be fun. Kun has never believed me when ive tried to explain how a 2500k can bottleneck a multi gpu setup in some games. Have at it DG. :D

he would prob experience stuttering like symptoms in games like bf3 for example because his cpu wont be able to keep up with the cards so will see 100% cpu usage and a bottleneck

bf and multicard on i5 no sale kun buy a 780gtx or wait. or i7 and another 7970.

even matt can be right sometimes :D

Are we talking just a matter of it not being optimal, or are we talking a matter of it causing issues like stuttering etc?

Shankly said it was stuttery for him with an i5. Mind you, that may have been before frame pacing. Maybe shankly can confirm? I helped some other dude out in the How to tell if crossfire is working thread the other day. He had a i5 and didn't report any stuttering in bf3. Though his gpu usage was low as we reported earlier. I think he'll be ok, but really he needs an i7.

So... apart from being a single card solution for crossfire, what's the point in buying this when you can get 2 x HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB for £348, with 2 x Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite's, 2 x Golden tickets, worth around £100, making the value £125 per 7950...?

its a niche card, something for people who want maximum power in a single card and don't have space for x fire.

been tempted to buy a couple of them for xfire a few times tho lol
