Hi everyone
After my disaster of a day (SDD died) I'm going back to a mechanical HDD as a boot drive.
It's occurred to me that as I'm reinstalling Windows I could set the drive up in ACHI mode instead of IDE.
I have six other HDDs in the computer already which were in use in the IDE system and the motherboard is a Gigabyte EX58-UD5.
If I have just the one new boot HDD plugged in as I install Windows on ACHI can I just plug the other drives back in and they will work normally (no problems / data loss etc), or do I need to do something with them?
Or do I just need to leave them in IDE mode?
Thanks...I hope this will be the last of my computer woes and frenzied question asking for the next few months at least.
