All responses much appreciated.
- I'm running a 2500K on a P8Z68 board and have had a stable o/c of 4.5 for a good 12 months now. On my old P5Q Deluxe you could set up your overclock so that speed step kicked in when idle, and then when you were doing something with the rig, it would ramp up to the stable over clock you had worked at.
However, on this Z68 board, I can't seem to get the same sort of scenario. I've got the multiplier set at 45, but enabling speed step doesn't seem to do anything. I've got the coretemp gadget on the desktop and the cpu frequency stays at 4500 Mhz.
Volts for the o/c is 1.37. Temps stay below 70 on a H100 in gaming but I'd like to fully utilize the speed step for when I'm at work and the rig is idling at home d/l stuff.
