Quick question about multimeter

I have 3 places to put the red and black contact on my multimeter and I don't know where to connect them.

The 3 places I can connect are

1. 10A DC
2. COM
3. V(ohm sign)mA

So which one do I connect the red to and which one do I connect the black one to?

I would put the black in com and the red in v

But i may be wrong

Black always goes to com but I'm not 100% sure on the red.

stick it in the V one then.

I'm trying to measure the voltage coming from a molex connector so I want to measure in dc but I see no switch to change between ac and dc. When I measure I'm getting 11v but what I'm aiming for is 5v.

Nvm, I was actually measuring the 12v output.
