Quick question about original Xbox

Just picked up an original Xbox to while away the hours whilst working away from home, really enjoying it but..

Every time I turn it on it asks for the time, does it have an internal battery and does this need replacing, or is it because I keep unplugging it from the mains after use?

And if anyone can recommend any games feel free

It will be because you are unplugging it from the mains

It loses some of its settings after a relatively short time.
