Quick question about Seagate 7200.10 drives

If i remove the pin thingy to make it full speed after its got data on it, it wont mess up any of my data will it?

hehe sames lol, i got a second 320 drive and read the label and looked at my original and slapped myself and yea i think my mobo can handle sata2

Just be aware that you won't notice any difference by removing the jumper, all that will happen is that the burst transfer rate will go up but any serious amount of disk usage will be reliant on the sustained transfer rate which isn't limited by running in SATA1 mode.
