Quick question about SR 2 ram compatibility?

Is this compatible with the Evga SR-2 Motherboard --> (Corsair 8GB Dominator GT 2000MHz CMT8GX3M2A2000C9 DDR3)?

Also can anyone recommend any CPU heat sinks that have no clearance issues with the ram?

They are compatible but they will only be running in dual channel (2 sticks per cpu). You want two triple channel kits ideally.

Most modern heatsinks have enough clearance, post 1 you like the look of if you want to check or read some reviews.

I'm most likely going to go with the H70 for now because I'm only going to be running a 1 CPU set up for now and it takes very little space.

nothing announced.

i would imagine there would be dual socket WS boards when high end SB equivalent xeons get released. but nothing confirmed on any with overclocking features.

if going for one then why not go for proper water cooling only around £300 probably but could be more-less

I have an sr-2 rig and I am pushing 2x 5680's Cpu's. If you are only going to use 1 chip you may as well stick to single socket as you will not benefit from all the sr-2 features

i plan to purchase another cpu within about 6 months but i desperately need a pc upgrade as i have a p4 system

Dont really think the SR 2 was what you are looking for! Have you already bought it? I would strongly recommend a single powerful CPU for what you need, a single i7 will give you an enormous performance boost over a P4. What you are doing is going overkill on one component and skimping elsewhere which will bottleneck your rig to such an extent that using a single CPU board + i7 will be no slower. What is the specs of the rest of your setup?
