Ok, well ill be earning 283 before tax.. but this is the first amount of money ive earned all year. Im out of full time education now so im not sure, will I get taxed on my earnings or do I have to earn a certain amount that year before I get taxed? Cheers

The limit before you start getting taxed is something like 4-5000.
Make sure you let your employer know and show them your p45 from your last job if you have one - otherwise you might get taxed at the normal rate and have to claim it back later.

Fill out a P46 and it should all be good.

Personal allowance is £6,435 for the year, so you won't be close to that for a while.

Just make sure to do the P46 thing or they might put you on a BR tax code and deduct 20% tax and 11% NIC.

The OP does need to clarify what the 283 is: monthly, weekly, daily salary?
