What time do supermarkets generally start selling alcohol? Am I right in thinking I won't be able to purchase before 12 o'clock or so? I'm nipping out shortly and needed some wine for tonight.

Depends on what their license is. Most "large" supermarkets will be able to sell it as soon as the strore opens / all the time if they are 24/7 stores.

During the week you can buy from when they open (after 8am AFAIK) and upto 11pm during the week (that's the times for my local 24 hour Tesco)., on Sunday you might not be able to buy alcohol before 10/11am,

We sell it 24/7 but are shut on Saturday & Sunday nights.
If you are Drunk though then come into the shop Quietly & behave yourselves or you won't get served.
If you want to take the **** out of the workers then at least have the sense to do it After you have got your alcohol YOU NUMPTYS !!! :p:p:p
