Quick Question before i put a order in plz

Iv been out of the PC gaming sence for over 6 years now, 2 weeks ago i oreded the system in my sig from OcUK which i am very please with Great service buy the way thank you

Today i will be putting in a order for this XFX ATI Radeon HD 7970 Black Edition 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card [HD-797A-TNBC]

I allready have the HIS 6870 IceQ 1GB card runing on cats 12.1

My question is, is it best to uninstall CCC before putting the new card in or will it be fine in simply just swapping the cards over and thats it?

Bit of a long story for a small Question sorry about that lol. Thanks

You'll need to uninstall the current drivers and reinstall the new drivers.

I don't have the link to hand but the HD 7970 currently isn't covered by the unified drivers and uses separate drivers.

You know the HD 7950 is available tomorrow and could be up to £120 cheaper?

The 7950 can be overclocked to withing a hair's breadth of the 7970, so depending on monitor resolution, go down that route and save £££'s

Installation:-

Download the latest 7970 driver here http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/RC11Driver.aspx

Then, as said above, un install AMD software, shut down, remove 6870, install 7970, boot up and install new software.

Then sell 6870 on MM

You won't regret it. I've just upgraded from a 6870>7970 and am literally blown away
